Fall 2009 Trends


With the sense of recession still in the presence of the runway, designers keep the simplicity of classic elements in mind of the catwalk. Along with the persistence of designer accessories, skyscraper pumps, and a mist of hope that keeps the cycle revolving it's tempos of inspired 40's fur frocks, neon hues, and biker bliss. With the neutral tones of grays, and blacks keeps the mood bright in a glamouras aspect of silhouette with a sultry mood. Designers Dolce & Gabbana and Zac Posen focused on the forties elements of garments for the fall. It's an undeniable presence of style that will never fade in a sense of fashionable attire. While Alexander Wang and Balmain keeps the biker persona alive in it's bomber jackets, and skin tight leather leg attire. Both looks are versatile in diversity of alternative looks with a change of accessorizing these trends are both obtainable in restructuring looks.

Fashion Events: Designer Ashley Drapes

Chicago designer Ashley Drapes recently participated in the Wicker Park based, " Let Them Eat Cake" fashion show produced by Justin White. Her art driven masterpiece of earrings of delight were featured in the show. With Victoria era influences of black lace, high waist jumpsuits, and a femininity of airy elegance mixed with a modernized style of denim and one piece numbers the collection stood out for it's soft feel on fashion. The texture and garments all told a given story of how each piece was designed. The designer still remains a favorite in the press for her one of a kind designs for accessories and style. Donna Karen Honorable Event

Designer Donna Karen was honored this week at the Friends in Deed Benefit in Balthazar for her commitment to charity. The fashion guro stated on style.com that, "I like how they care for the patient—not just the disease," she said of her dedication to the cause. "They understand that care needs to go beyond the sickness to the friends and loved ones.". Joining the festivities, starlets Jessica Sarah Parker, Rachel Zoe, Rachel Roy and Andy Cohen were amongst the crowd for the event. It's great to see a good deed is being taking into consideration and what a wonderful deed it is. With the likes of the support of the fashion industry, there is more in the works for the designer for future promising opportunities.
