Designer Spotlight: DVF

With the invention of the knitted "wrap dress" that sky rocketed her fashion career into the hangers of every women's closet, Diane Von Furstenberg has been one of the most inspiration designers since the likes of CoCo Chanel, and Estee Lauder . Born in Europe, the Parisian inspired designer had her start in the fashion industry with just a dream of designing for everyday women and a suit case full of her collection when she walked into the office of Vogue to showcase her talent. With criticism and with a muster of hope in 1970 she started her line Diane Von Furstenberg with a 300,000 dollar bugdet that eventually over time multipled into a million dollar company with multiple lisencing in luggage, home decor, cosmetics, and sportswear. " I have yet to meet a woman that wasn't strong. They don't exist." she stated as her mission for her designs. With her signature prints along with soft silhouettes, blends of textures, and play of colors , the designer makes it known that she is a designer for women that want to "feel like women". In the designers recent Spring 2010 collection, she folics in a play of knitted executions with pops of greens, with neutral tones of black mixed in. The designer has continued to become a continual favorite for many women and she will forever be known for her " dress" that set her mark as being the master of prints.
