Hello Darlings,
Yes Yes Yes I have been haitus for the past few weeks due to my transition back at home in the lovely city of Chicago, IL. Im a city girl so I needed my time away from the country, eventhough I must say Im absokutely IN LOVE with Texas, I still need my city. Any who one thing I found really interesting was on another blog that I absolutely love, thefashionbomb.blogspot.com, that informed its readers on a new black designer that has a to die for shoe collection that is sold exclusively in a upscale boutique called , Bellhaus, in the Hamptons. I'm personally, so excited to see a splash of color amongst the crowd that is representing pure talent in the fashion industry. Fabulous. If you would like to splurge on yourself, you can visit Courtney Crawford website for more of his collections.

Honey & Chic,
First I would like to say "Why must he be a "black" designer?? Don't you believe that every time that we make the statement like "black" doctor, or "black" politician, or "black" lawyer we imply that the we as blacks don't have the ability, talent, smarts, or skill to uphold this level of job or career. We as a people never state "Oh, he or she is a "black" rapper, "black basketball player, "black" janitor, etc. Will we speak of Obama as our "black" president or The President of the United States??
These people are who they are and what they do has nothing to do with their race. They are Designers, Lawyers, Doctors...that happen to be people of color or black.
Anyway and Also, Courtney Crawford is nothing short than "MAJOR!" He is NOT exclusively sold at Bellhaus (which is a fantastic lifestyle boutique). He is sold at Saks 5th Avenue in NY, and Beverly Hills as well as GRACE in Chicago, you neck of the woods, to name a few. He is GLOBAL, selling to major luxury stores across the world. The man has won awards from VOGUE Italia and Conde Nast, done collections for Missoni, Calvin Klein and was hand picked by Karl Lagerfeld to walk the runway for CHANEL. The man has been written up in American VOGUE by the fashion icon Andre Leon Talley himself. In the words of T.I. -Check the resume the man's record is impeccable.
yes yes, I am a fan.
Casper Milktoast,
I fully understand why you must feel this way towards, the "black designer" comment. I am African American and my view points may be very different from yours because of our cultural backgrounds. When someone of my heritage is accepted on a high rank of accomplishments, I tend to get excited ,because finally we are getting recognition of what we are capable of doing in the fashion industry which tends to shut out black designers, models, and photographers at times. This is a big accomplishment.
Since we are talking about Courtney Crawford I want to let you know that as well as the things you have mentioned he as well is,in the year since he launched his line, Crawford has been busy: He won Who is on Next (a European design competition sponsored by Italian Vogue and the fashion agency Alta Roma); designed Missoni's feather-happy Spring '07 shoe collection; consulted on Morgane Le Fay's debut line; was taken under the enormous wing of Vogue's editor-at-large André Leon Talley; and so endeared himself to Karl Lagerfeld that he walked in Chanel's runway show last season. He's also managed to win over Kate Moss, Mischa Barton, Mariah Carey (in fact, he outfitted her for the entire "Emancipation of Mimi" tour) and Dita Von Teese with his shoes."
See darling it isn't anything other than me proud of my heritage and I will continue to do so.
I thank you for your comment as well!:)
