Up and Coming Designer: Summer Douglas

Confusion, and anticipation reeked the room full of scantly clad models, designers finishing final touches on their creations, and multiple careless thrown articles of clothing thrown amongst the room. It leaves a feeling of urgency and yet excitement that leads to final judgment at the end of the hallway that never seems to end for the judging of Art Wear 2009 fashion students at UNT. Maneuvering through the massive crowd left me with better luck of winning gain age in a camp out awaiting for that massive sale for that Marc Jacobs clutch I dreamed about. Letting reality set back in, I dodge a pair a black pumps and set on to my ultimate mission of destiny. When I reached the 5"2" frame of the fashion swavy Summer Douglas, that was embarked on a near complete nervous wreck, I couldn't help, but smile. Summer had indeed arrived and there is not sight of the season in this remark. Fashion designer Summer Douglas. Fashion History: Donyale Luna

Donyale Luna broke many barriers for ethnic women by gracing the prestige cover of Vogue in 1966, for becoming known as the first ethnic model to grace the cover. The famous model was discovered by famed photographer David McCabe in her hometown of Detriot, Michigan, but after little persuasion she lefted the comforts of home for the big city lights of New York City. The New York Times in 1968 describe her as, " Luna Who Dreamed of being Snow White", due to her discomfort of her background of ethnicity. She often looked at her roots as a huge disgust than such as a breaking boundary in the fashion industry, which in such she wore green contact lenses and blong wigs to change her appearance. Regardless of her concern for breaking barriers and foundations that were held against other cultural backgrounds she still has continue to influence the breaking point in fashion of becoming the first ethnic cover girl of Vogue. Along with that she will forever be embraced for her achievement.

Dainty Me Darling

Feminine vulgar with a touch of roughness. Who ever said a girl couldn't play tough? Tough with fashion that is, and great at it as well. A fine line of feminine daintiness with a whole lot of " so you looking at me" mixture compliments a style of individualistic calm. Stepping outside of the rigid box can be difficult for some but for those with edge there is no bothersome in mixing a little girly with edge. Nice colors of feminine pigments with a tough textured piece can leave a complete style. Indulge in more below:
