Up and Coming Designer: Summer Douglas

Confusion, and anticipation reeked the room full of scantly clad models, designers finishing final touches on their creations, and multiple careless thrown articles of clothing thrown amongst the room. It leaves a feeling of urgency and yet excitement that leads to final judgment at the end of the hallway that never seems to end for the judging of Art Wear 2009 fashion students at UNT. Maneuvering through the massive crowd left me with better luck of winning gain age in a camp out awaiting for that massive sale for that Marc Jacobs clutch I dreamed about. Letting reality set back in, I dodge a pair a black pumps and set on to my ultimate mission of destiny. When I reached the 5"2" frame of the fashion swavy Summer Douglas, that was embarked on a near complete nervous wreck, I couldn't help, but smile. Summer had indeed arrived and there is not sight of the season in this remark. Fashion designer Summer Douglas. The 23 year old designer recently debuted her collection, simply entitled Remmus, inspired from her very own name.( designer's name spelled backwards.) The textured inspired maven was given much applause for her chic and experimental fashion sense that could leave any audience captivated by her majestic knowledge of the needle and thread. A triple threat of classic executed design and art. The designer spilled some her future plans, inspirations, and style must haves.

A young woman in her early 20's-30's just starting out in her career has a very classic style, but yet has another side to her like after 5:00( Beyonce- Sasha Fierce).

What is the name of your collection and why?
"Remmus" which is my name spelled backwards. My clothing is apart of me no it is me and that's something I would like to bring and share with the world.

Your collection is daring, but has a sense of simplicity in terms of feminity. Do you feel that you step outside the boundaries of southern fashion in your designs?
Yes! My style is me and I'm NO where near southern style. I'm always looking for things that are different, sexy, classic and not a southern style so I try to bring that same style to my designs.
